Blinds for Offices

Blinds for Offices

Whether kitting out your home workspace or refreshing your commercial office, office blinds are a crucial component. Since your office is where you need to be most productive, shouldn’t you be designing this room to be both comfortable and practical?

Believe it or not, your blinds will have an impact on how you feel throughout the day and the output you’re able to achieve. So, let’s make sure we get them right!

High Levels of Light Control is Key for Office Blinds

When it comes to choosing blinds for offices, there are many things to consider. What style do you want? What colour will work best? And so on. But the key thing to be aware of is achieving the perfect balance of light and minimal glare.

Nobody wants to work in the dark. Nobody wants to work with a glare across their screen – or in their eyes. So how do you go about working when the sun is shining directly into your office window? You need to choose office blinds with fantastic levels of light control. Our three top picks are vertical, vision and Venetian blinds for offices. All with a different look but the same functionality. Here’s why:

Vertical Blinds for Offices

Verticals are a popular choice of blinds for both home and commercial offices. This is likely due to their affordability and versatility in light control. Controlling the levels of light coming in is simple. You just tilt the slats, close, or draw the blinds into your preferred position.

Vertical blinds are particularly suited to large, glazed areas such as French doors and floor-to-ceiling windows, those that are typically seen in tall office buildings. This is thanks to their levels of flexibility when it comes to light control.

Another major advantage is that they are extremely easy to keep clean! If there is a stain on some slats, they can be removed and cleaned (or replaced) individually, rather than having to clean or replace the entire blind for your office.

Venetian Blinds for Offices

A classic choice of blinds for offices, Venetian blinds also provide levels of light control on par with vertical blinds. When you choose Venetian blinds for your office, you’ll have so many options when it comes to design! Available with 25mm or 50mm slats, in wood, faux wood or aluminium – all of which come in a range of neutral and colourful shades.

Another reason they make great blinds for offices is because they require very minimal maintenance to keep them look good as new. Light dusting is all these blinds require!

Venetian office blinds

Vision Blinds for Offices

Boasting many of the same benefits of Vertical and Venetian blinds, Vision blinds are brilliant blinds for offices if you’re going for a modern look. Made up of two adjoining fabrics with alternating opaque and transparent stripes, Vision blinds provide a contemporary look to any space! Available in a wide range of coloured fabrics from beige, white, and grey to navy, red, and black. There’s something to match every office branding!

These fabric stripes can be adjusted to achieve the exact amounts of light you’d like in your office, all by the pull of the strings!

Again, they are a low-maintenance choice of blinds for offices, with just a light dusting required on occasion!

Roller Blinds for Offices are Also a Popular Choice

Though they don’t offer the same degree of light control that our last three suggestions do, roller blinds for offices are still a popular choice. If your office is north facing, you’ll get little-to-no direct sunlight coming in through your windows. Therefore, having a roller blind open all day will cause no problems!

Roller blinds are a good option for office blinds as they provide a sleek, smart look to any room. Not only that, but rollers are also available in hundreds of different styles and designs, so we’re sure you’ll find a roller blind that suits your office on our website.

Things to Consider for Commercial Office Blinds

If it is a commercial office that you’re refreshing, then your blinds need a little more consideration than those in a home office scenario.

1) Durability. Blinds for offices in a commercial environment need to be able to withstand the test of time. Choosing high quality made to measure blinds will ensure you get the best return on your investment.

2) Safety. Above anything else is the safety of the blinds. Your commercial office blinds need to meet the required safety standards. If you need any help with this, contact us via the form on our website.

3) Low Maintenance. You don’t want to be having to clean your office blinds every single week, do you? Get a blind that requires only an occasional light dusting.

4) Moisture Resistance. For your office blinds to last as long as possible, they should be moisture resistant to avoid warping or colour fading when exposed to the elements.

Custom Branded Roller Blinds for Bradley Hall’s Grey Street HQ

Client: Bradley Hall
Location: Grey Street, Newcastle upon Tyne
Sector: Commercial Property
Scope: Custom Branded and Non-Branded Roller Blinds Across Two Floors
Project Status: Delivered to Spec, On Time, Within 2 Weeks

The Project

We were commissioned to design and install a combination of branded and non-branded roller blinds for Bradley Hall’s stunning new head office on Newcastle’s iconic Grey Street. The blinds not only enhance the aesthetic of the new space, but also provide practical year-round comfort.

What the Client Needed

As the building is listed, Bradley Hall were unable to use external signage to display their brand identity. They needed an interior solution that would subtly represent their brand in a stylish, professional way, while still providing effective solar shading and heat retention.

The Challenge

  • No external signage permitted due to the heritage status of the building.
  • No parking for unloading equipment.
  • 4-metre-high windows requiring specialist ladder access.
  • Narrow spiral staircases, making it difficult to manoeuvre materials without damaging freshly decorated walls and doors.

The client also required a rapid turnaround ahead of moving into their new space.

How We Overcame It

Our team designed and manufactured a blend of branded and non-branded roller blinds, ensuring a cohesive look across two floors. The installation required exceptional care and expertise to work safely within the constraints of a heritage building.

Despite the logistical hurdles, we delivered the entire project from initial enquiry to completion in under 2 weeks, meeting Bradley Hall’s deadlines without compromising on quality.

The Result

The finished installation delivered:

  • Stylish integration of Bradley Hall’s branding into the new office.
  • Effective shading and thermal control for year-round comfort.
  • Seamless delivery within a limited timeframe.
  • A high-quality installation, despite the challenges of restricted access and building constraints.

Client Feedback

“Huge thanks to you and the team Kevin! Fantastic service from start to finish, quick turnaround and quality product and installation. They look great!”

– Sharon Boyd, Chief Operating Officer, Bradley Hall North East / Yorkshire

The Bigger Picture

This project demonstrates our ability to combine branding, design, and practicality, even in heritage or conservation-area buildings where signage is restricted. It also underlines our expertise in overcoming complex site challenges and delivering under tight time pressures.

40 Custom Tension Pleated Blinds for Newcastle Airport Control Tower

Client: Newcastle International Airport
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Sector: Aviation – Air Traffic Control
Scope: 40 Bespoke Tension Pleated Blinds
Project Status: Delivered to Spec, On Time

The Project

We were commissioned to design and install 40 custom tension pleated blinds for Newcastle International Airport’s Air Traffic Control Tower. This wasn’t a straightforward job – the tower’s unique architecture and operational restrictions made it one of the most complex installations we’ve ever delivered.

What the Client Needed

The brief was simple but critical: shading and light control in an environment where visibility is paramount. The blinds needed to perform flawlessly to reduce glare, enhance comfort, and maintain clear sightlines for air traffic controllers at all times.

The Challenge

The tower’s design created a unique technical challenge: the windows are narrower at the top than the bottom. This meant the blinds had to operate in reverse, raising issues with tension and stability. Getting them to stay in place was no small feat.

How We Overcame It

Our team engineered a bespoke solution using:

  • Maximum tension throughout each blind system
  • Reinforced top bars for durability
  • Discreet magnetic strips to keep blinds secure

We worked closely with the client throughout, being completely transparent about the technical hurdles. To build confidence, we produced working samples that were tested and signed off before full manufacture began.

Working in a Live Air Traffic Control Tower

This wasn’t just a technical project – it was also about precision planning. Working in one of the UK’s busiest control towers meant strict security measures:

  • All staff were vetted and security checked
  • Passports had to be presented at each entry
  • Access was tightly restricted and visits limited

To meet these requirements, we planned every step of the installation around an agreed programme of works, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and minimal disruption to airport operations.

The Result

The new blinds have transformed the tower environment, delivering:

✅ Glare reduction
✅ Improved visibility for controllers
✅ Greater comfort in a high-pressure workplace

The client praised not only the quality of the finished product but also our communication, professionalism, and how smoothly the installation was managed.

The Bigger Picture

This project highlights our ability to deliver bespoke blind solutions for even the most complex environments. From innovative design to meticulous project management, we can adapt to buildings where standard systems simply won’t work.
