Why Choose Wooden Venetian Blinds?
Wooden Venetian blinds have multiple benefits that make them a worthwhile investment, including:
Refined Beauty
With their fresh straight lines and understated elegance, wooden Venetian blinds are some of the most attractive you can buy.
The rich, organic look of wood or wood-effect blinds adds a touch of refinement to your home. Their clean lines, variety of finishes (e.g. traditional oak, walnut, or contemporary neutral tones), and textured slats instantly enhance kerb appeal. When potential buyers see tasteful wooden blinds paired with good décor, it contributes to perceived value — often enabling you to ask a higher price at sale.
Long Lifespans
Wooden Venetians are built to last. With high-quality materials, proper treatment, and occasional maintenance, they can endure for many years. Faux wood blinds add extra durability in moisture-prone areas. Cleaning is straightforward — simply dust or wipe down slats — with minimal need for repair. The relative hardness of wood ensures the hardware and slats maintain shape and appearance over time.
Natural Insulation & Energy Efficiency
Wood is a superb natural insulator. Wooden Venetian blinds help reduce heat loss in the winter and block excess heat in summer, acting as a thermal barrier when closed. This means lower heating bills, fewer drafts, and reduced reliance on central heating or air conditioning — all helping to shrink your household’s carbon footprint. Opting for real wood blinds maximises this effect, while faux wood (PVC or wood-like composite) offers moisture resistance, making it ideal for kitchens and high-humidity spaces.

Further Advantages
Timber window blinds are incredibly attractive but there’s more to them than just good looks. Choose wooden blinds and you’ll benefit from:
Improved Energy Efficiency
Wood is a natural insulator and these blinds will add an additional thermal barrier to your windows. They’ll help reduce heat loss and make it easier to manage household temperatures.
Effective Shading
Venetian blinds are a versatile and effective way to control light levels in the home. Angle the slats well and you can let in as much or as little of the sunshine as you wish.
Space Saving
Our wooden Venetian blinds are surprisingly compact and don’t take up much space. You can use more of your window sill with our wooden blinds.

Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to some of our most popular questions here.
Which Is Better; Faux Wood Or Real Wood?
It depends on your preferences; our PVC (faux wood) blinds tend to be more affordable, whereas wooden blinds are better at retaining household heat and have longer lifespans. PVC blinds are better at resisting water, so are useful in kitchens and bathrooms, but both types are comparatively low maintenance. Talk to our consultants about your requirements and we’ll help you decide.
Can I Install Venetian Blinds Alongside Curtains?
Yes, we usually think of blinds as an alternative to curtains but there’s no reason why you can’t have both on the same window. This can be especially beneficial when it comes to energy efficiency, as there will be two barriers preventing heat loss rather than one.
How Long Do Wooden Blinds Last?
On average, you can expect wooden blinds to last around 7-8 years. This isn’t the upper limit though; if you make a habit of maintaining and cleaning them, they can last longer. We’ve seen examples that have lasted almost twice as long as that.
Do Wooden Blinds Have Problems With Moisture?
Wood naturally absorbs water and can experience issues because of it, but we treat our wooden blinds to make them as resistant as possible. You shouldn’t experience any issues, but we would recommend using faux wood blinds in bathrooms, kitchens or anywhere with a higher rate of water vapour.
